and Butcher Winterhalter

Where cars were once repaired, bakers and butchers now come together: A combined retail space with approximately 200 m² of sales area has been created in a former auto repair shop in Sexau. The open, transparent design connects the interior and exterior spaces and gives the building a new character. Fresh baked goods and deli meats, a lunch menu, and about 30 seats make the location a go-to spot for shopping and a quick bite. Step-free access ensures barrier-free entry.

We designed the counter and the corresponding back-of-house areas for both businesses. At the Winterhalter butcher shop, a PRIMOevo® refrigerated display counter with a support-free glass top provides an unobstructed view of the merchandise. It is complemented by a wall-mounted refrigerated display case and a snack bar counter with a built-in back counter. The granite corner design and the offset countertop in the snack area highlight the custom design of the interior. At the Ritter Bakery, the custom-made bakery counter with an indirectly lit front adds a design accent.

The back wall and back cabinet system with bread bins, along with an additional shelf in the customer area, provide space for product display. A seating niche with a decorative ceiling element creates an inviting area where customers can linger. In this way, the shared location combines the needs of both artisanal businesses with an open shopping and social atmosphere.
