EDEKA Schmidts supermarket in Bad Säckingen

Käsetheke mit Kühlturm

The opening of Schmidts XL supermarket in Bad Säckingen showcased the seamless integration of the latest technological standards and exclusive design within an EDEKA supermarket, while offering an array of regional quality goods. Customers enjoy a unique shopping experience on around 3000 m² of sales area. The supermarket really stands out due to its visually striking appearance. The centrepiece, for instance, has to be the ‘cheese tower’ – probably the only one of its kind in Germany. In this case, a necessity has been turned into a virtue, as the cheese is stored vertically, right up to the ceiling, instead of being stored horizontally. KRAMER cold room construction supplied the glass doors and cover for the unique tower. Also, the large glazed front of the gallery is an eye-catcher that allows customers an intriguing view of the kitchen and production area while they are shopping or enjoying a cup of coffee in the café area. The demand for enhanced transparency within the supermarket has been met successfully in every aspect. When constructing the cold and deep-freeze rooms and the industrial kitchen, KRAMER used flooring that satisfy the necessary slip resistance standards. They can be walked and driven on without any problems.
